Naomi Moran is a Nyangbal and Arakwal woman from the Bundjalung Nation in northern NSW, with direct bloodlines to the Dunghutti Nation on the mid-north coast. She currently serves as NSW Treaty Commissioner with the NSW Government, bringing more than 25 years’ experience across Indigenous media, governance and community leadership.
Naomi is also the CEO of the Koori Mail, Australia’s only independent national Aboriginal newspaper, and Co-Chair of First Nations Media Australia. Throughout her career, she has championed self-determination, community control and strong First Nations voices in public life.
Her leadership spans media, arts, digital inclusion and policy reform, underpinned by a deep commitment to ensuring First Nations communities lead solutions that strengthen justice, governance and cultural integrity.
